What size of logs are you turning into firewood?

The type of wood you mainly process into firewood determines the most suitable firewood processor, and therefore also the most suitable splitting blades. The standard blade that comes with a Palax firewood processor is either 2/4 or 2/6, which means you can split logs into two, four, or six pieces. Other splitting blades are also available as optional extras for the firewood processors. Changing the splitting blade takes just a few seconds with the quick-lock.

Palax firewood processors and wood thickness

Fast and low-maintenance Palax circular blade machines suit those who process wood of roughly the same diameter range, up to 30 cm (C751), 37 cm (C900), or 40 cm (C1000). Palax chainsaw-based machines are best suited to those who process wood of varying diameters, up to 36 cm (D360), 38 cm (D410), or 46 cm (D460).

Machine-specific blade options

Black splitting blades (2/0-2/12) fit the Palax D410, D460, and C1000 firewood processors. Red splitting blades (2/0-2/8) fit the D360, C751, and C900 firewood processors.

X-Aim machines have their own splitting blades

If you order the factory-installed X-Aim accessory for your firewood processor, you will also need X-Aim compatible splitting blades. This is because the sides of the splitting blade on X-Aim machines must have notches, which the sensors use to detect the correct height of the wood and to center the split automatically in the middle of the log.
